Acceptable Use Policy
Common-sense rules that help keep our hosting environment reliable and safe for everyone.

Lawful use
Our services may be used only for lawful purposes. Customers may not use our systems to host, distribute or facilitate illegal material or activity, fraud, phishing, identity theft, malicious software, unlawful harassment or other activity that creates material risk for Web Secured Hosting Canada or other customers.
Security and unauthorized access
Customers may not use our services to probe, scan, attack or gain unauthorized access to systems, networks, accounts or data. Botnets, denial-of-service activity, credential attacks, malware distribution and attempts to bypass security controls are prohibited.
Spam and abusive email
Unsolicited bulk email, purchased mailing lists, forged headers and other spam activity are prohibited. An account that causes our server addresses or domains to be blacklisted may be suspended while the issue is investigated and corrected.
Server resources
Hosting is intended for operating websites and related business services, not for running workloads that continuously consume disproportionate CPU, memory, database or disk resources. Sites that repeatedly affect other customers may need optimization, a different hosting plan or a separate server environment.
Backups and file storage
Hosting accounts are not intended to operate as general-purpose backup repositories, file-sharing services or long-term archives unrelated to the hosted website. Large backup sets should be stored using an appropriate backup or cloud-storage service.
Vulnerable or compromised websites
We may temporarily restrict, quarantine or suspend a compromised website, malicious file, outdated application or abusive process where necessary to protect the server. We will make reasonable efforts to contact the customer and help determine the next step.
Prohibited content and activity
Examples include malware, phishing pages, credential theft, unauthorized copyrighted distribution, deceptive schemes, illegal products or services, unlawful threats, and content or activity that directly facilitates attacks against other systems. This list is not exhaustive.
Enforcement
We prefer to resolve ordinary issues with the customer whenever practical. Serious abuse, active compromise, spam outbreaks or threats to server stability may require immediate restriction or suspension. Repeated or deliberate violations may result in termination.
